There are a couple of ways to approach street / travel photography. The most popular way is the magazine style. A very clean approach, only show beautiful images of cityscapes / landscapes. Bright colors and pretty people. The other way is an editorial approach. This is a bit grittier at times and a bit more realistic. I suppose this could be considered photojournalism, but where it differs is; in photojournalism, images cannot be altered or Photoshopped.
I prefer to use editing programs to create the image that I want. With this all said, I like to use a mixture of both approaches leaning toward editorial. The images are not perfect, but I am trying to tell a story. It’s my story not necessarily the whole truth. Just the truth as I see it at the moment. In the end I want to produce compelling images that people want to look at on their walls, not just on the background of their laptop.
